PERU – John and Catherine Dolloff of Peru were surprised with a 25th anniversary cookout/party on May 9 at the home of Mrs. Dolloff’s father, Richard Hamel in Mexico.
There were 55 people in attendance from surrounding towns, South Portland, New Gloucester, Wiscasset, Lewiston, Auburn and Smithfield. Other guests came from New York, Vermont and New Hampshire.
The couple was presented with a money tree. The party was hosted by their parents, sisters and their children, Dale and Amy.
Mr. Dolloff and the former Catherine Hamel were married on May 5, 1979, in Peru. Andrew Linnell was best man and Gail Bulger was maid of honor and there were several other attendants. The ceremony was performed by Gordon Newell, with Sally Jones singing and the Steele/Hazelton Band performing the music.
