It has been over a week since the election and still there has not been a follow-up article about the so-called mailer that the Paul Madore campaign sent out.

Now can we expect the Sun Journal to be on the vanguard of this investigation?

One would be hopeful.

When was the last time that one could recall the Sun Journal running a story on Election Day?

I confess that I hardly know Mr. Madore, but in spite of that, there are far too many questions that are not being answered. Such as: What was the precise time that the post office in Lewiston received the items, when were they mailed out, were they routed to Lewiston or sent to Portland?

How long did his opposition have them in their possession before their orchestrated outrage began to develop on the steps of City Hall? What role did the Maine Trial Lawyers Association play here, as well?

As I understand it, according to insiders, Mr. Madore’s mailer was riddled with inaccurate information, although I will submit that the accusation comes from those who were in the other camp.

On Election Day, two very stark examples of voter manipulation were in play, and that is a very disturbing fact. From my perspective, Paul Madore followed a textbook example of how a campaign should be run. Both he and the voters of Lewiston deserved much more.
