BLACKSTONE, Va. – Annie Fickett Philbrook, 80, died of pneumonia after a long illness, June 21, at Heritage Hall.

Born in Auburn, April 8, 1924, she served in the Army during World War II and married and moved to Greene. She moved to Hopewell, Va., during the 1970s.

She was active at the Hopewell Community Center and was a member of the Powers Memorial Baptist Church. Her marriage to Frank C. Philbrook ended in divorce.

She is survived by daughters, Sharon Soucy of Auburn, Susan Philbrook of Las Vegas, Nev., and Sally Philbrook, Silverthorne, Colo.; a son-in-law, Charles P. Jewett of Summerville, S.C.; and three grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Sabrina Jewett.
