PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – Pop singer Jessica Simpson canceled her Tuesday show at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center because of an illness, a concert promoter said.

Simpson, 23, was being treated at a local hospital. Details about her illness were not being released.

Fans were advised to keep their tickets, as organizers hope to reschedule the performance as soon as possible, said Heidi Kutsch, a spokeswoman for Clear Channel Communications, which was promoting the concert.
