AUBURN – Leo L. Moreau, 86, of 160 Third St., Auburn, died peacefully Tuesday evening, June 22, at his residence, surrounded by family.
Born in Lewiston, Aug. 4, 1917, the son of Arsene and Helene Levasseur Moreau, he was educated in Lewiston schools.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. On June 28, 1947, he was married to the former Rita L. Bergeron of Auburn.
He was employed by the Auburn Die Co. and subsequently by Bergeron Machine Shop of which he eventually became the proprietor until his retirement in 1982.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; two sons, Raymond and wife, Nancy of Tallahassee, Fla., and Paul of Boone, N.C.; one daughter, Helene Moreau St. Hilaire of Auburn; four grandchildren, Megan and Ryan Moreau and Danielle and Aimee St. Hilaire; a sister, Rita Moreau Madore of Auburn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Yvonne Cote and Jeanne Moreau; and one brother, Emile Moreau.
