In the recent past, many fine long-term employees have either retired or been “downsized” from the city of Auburn.

I wish to point out some of these folks and thank them for their long service to the citizens of Auburn. Lawrence Dunham, 37 years; Sharon Downey, 31 years; George Bickford, 19 years; Norm Fecteau, 16 years; Jane Steeves, nine years; Gail Croteau, 20 years; Jay Boone, six years; Robert Melaugh, 12 years. These people worked a total of 150 years for the citizens of Auburn. I thank them for their service because neither the mayor’s office nor the city manager bothered to even send a simple e-mail to any of these people acknowledging their long service to the city.

This is emblematic of how low-class the leadership of the city of Auburn has become. It also explains the low moral of the real workers in the city family.
