NEW GLOUCESTER – Thompson’s Apple Orchard will present its first “Music on the Hill,” a family bluegrass festival, Friday to Sunday, June 25 to 27. It will feature bands from Maine to Missouri.

The gates will open at 7 a.m. Friday for this all-weekend event.

The festival will be held at Thompson’s Apple Orchard on Gloucester Hill Road. Bands performing at this event are from Maine unless otherwise specified. They will include: the Stevens Family of Tennessee, Blistered Fingers, the Foster Sisters, the Hemphill Family Bluegrass Band of New Hampshire, the Chapmans of Missouri, the Union River Band, Traver Hollow of Connecticut, Back to Basics and the Laclaires.

People attending the event are being urged to bring lawn chairs. No coolers or alcoholic beverages will be allowed on the grounds. Food and soft drinks will be available. A large tent will be provided.

Weekend passes are $30, Friday’s ticket is $10, Saturday’s is $17, Saturday night’s ticket is $10 and Sunday’s ticket is $10.
