AUBURN – The Frank W. Hulett Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Auxiliary celebrated its 75th anniversary at a banquet at the post home. Past presidents were honored in a candlelight ceremony.

There were 19 past presidents in attendance: Bertha Daley, Jeanne Starkey, Lucille Ray, Ruby Thompson, Ernestine Dupont, Jeannette Roy, Lucille Arsenault, Mary Charpentier, Joan Hebert, Estella Stevens, Mary Lawlor, Gail Charpentier, Lillian Deschene, Valencia Cody, Ellen Broas, Blanche Bouvier, Linda Pearl, Sylvia Thibodeau and Margaret Whirley.

Pins for number of years of continuous membership were presented to all auxiliary members present. Guests from American Legion Post 22, Lewiston, Franco-American Legion Post and Auxiliary, Women’s Marine Corps League, VFW Post 3335 and Auxiliary of Jay, and VFW Post 9150 Lewiston and Post 9459 Lisbon helped celebrate the milestone.

The Auburn auxiliary is the only VFW auxiliary in the state to celebrate its 75th anniversary this year. The post was organized in October of 1928 and the auxiliary in January 1929. All past commanders of the post were recognized and all post members in attendance will receive continuous membership pins.
