The words of the late Bob Eliot, satirist/storyteller on Channel 6, sums up the problem in the news media these days. The Sun Journal recently hired three new staff members, two of whom do not hold degrees in journalism (although one of the hirees is an editor).

Apparently instead of a degree in journalism, a degree in political science is the qualifier for a career in the newsroom. And we believe we have unbiased news reporting? “Ain’t it odd?”
