AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department of Central Maine Community College is offering “Train the Trainer,” a special series for trainers, teachers, presenters and instructors. Participants may customize the program to their needs and skill level by choosing from a series of seven three-hour workshops.

The workshops will run from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays, Aug. 3 through 24. The cost is $55 a workshop and includes all materials as well as a certificate of completion.

Sessions will include Instructional Design for New Trainers, Aug. 3, covering how to manage the entire course design process, from planning a project through evaluating the program; Humor in Training, Aug. 5, which provides strategies on how to incorporate humorous techniques into the design and delivery of a course, presentation or training program.

Also, How Adults Learn, Aug. 10, offering a simple “recipe” for successful learning that will guarantee adult learners get the most out of presentations and training sessions; Evaluation of Training, Aug. 12, which provides tools to gather, analyze and communicate the bottom-line results that training has on an organization (participants will return to their jobs with the most comprehensive process, tools, and techniques that build a compelling case for the effectiveness of training programs).

Also, Professional Presentation Skills, Aug. 17, will help participants overcome public speaking fears and develop confidence to make clear and meaningful presentations; Advanced Instructional Techniques, Aug. 19, shows how to lead a group, analyze group dynamics, motivate participants, set up a positive climate for learning, as well as deal with difficult participants; and Neurolinguistic Programming, Aug. 24, which offers techniques on how to use the tool in training sessions.
