IRVINE, Calif. – Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. has awarded W.D. Matthews Machinery Co. of Auburn, its highest dealership honor, the President’s Award, for 2003.

W.D. Matthews is one of 16 recipients of this distinguished award and was selected from a 71 dealers and 184 dealerships.

W.D. Matthews was acknowledged at Toyota’s dealer meeting in Dallas for maintaining the highest standards of excellence in sales, service, parts, training, customer satisfaction and overall dealership operations.

In addition to its headquarters in Auburn, W.D. Matthews Machinery Co. also has a location in Concord, N.H. This is the second time W.D. Matthews Machinery Co. has been awarded the President’s Award.

“In 2003 we challenged Scott Plummer of W.D. Matthews Machinery to raise the bar’ as Toyota continued striving to set new standards in our industry, and I am extremely proud of their achievement,” said Shankar Basu, president and chief executive officer of Toyota Material Handling USA. “We are fortunate to have the support of dealers who share our passion for excellence. W.D. Matthews Machinery truly represents the very best in our industry.”

To demonstrate Toyota’s appreciation, each President’s Award recipient received a Tiffany & Co. crystal award and was recognized on Toyota’s Web site, www.toyotaforklift.com, and in a full-page, color advertisement in the spring issue of the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association Journal. Toyota Material Handling U.S.A. also hosted a trip to Prague and Vienna for the winners.
