LEWISTON – Betsy Norcross Plourde, executive director of Advocates for Children, said the agency was recently awarded a grant from the Maine Children’s Trust.
The funding will be used to provide education to parents in Androscoggin County. Advocates for Children will offer fours sessions of “1,2,3,4 Parents!,” a three-session workshop geared for parents of children ages 1 through 4. Parents will learn the “how to” of parenting, including universal parenting principles that program facilitators tailor to the parents’ own experiences.
The next session of “1,2,3,4 Parents!” will begin in September. For more information or to register, call the agency at 7833-3990. Advocates for Children is a participating United Way agency and a recipient of a Lewiston Community Development Block Grant.
