Dear Sun Spots: The YWCA of Lewiston-Auburn would like to replace some folding chairs.

If any schools, private clubs or organizations are replacing chairs and would be willing to donate them to the Y, we would really appreciate it. We will pick up. Please call (207) 795-4050 and ask for Butch. – No Name, Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: I would like to reply to two recent requests.

We are Log Cabin Craftworks in Dixfield, (31 Main St. on Route 2) and we sell books of patterns for Swedish or huck weaving. Also, the afghan squares for the “Warm Up America” program are to be 7-inches by 9-inches. (We have a variety of free patterns available.) We collect squares and finished afghans, and when we have a box full, we ship them.

Through the generosity of very caring customers, we have shipped over 20 boxes with an average of six afghans per box. If you wish to mail them, please send them to P.O. Box 394, Dixfield, 04224, or deliver them. We will add them to our next shipment.

Thank you, Sun Spots, for your prompt and gracious answers. – Norine Clarke, Log Cabin Craftworks, Dixfield.

Dear Sun Spots: On May 7, I ordered two pairs of jeans and a blazer from the Haband catalogue. My check has been cashed but I’ve never received my order and did not keep their address. A bad mistake on my part.

I would appreciate it if you could find me their address and phone number. – G.B., Auburn.

Answer: The New Jersey corporate office is advising you allow four to six weeks for delivery. In the meantime, try reaching them via their Web site at www.haband.com, by e-mail at service@haband.net or by mail at Haband Service Center, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Peckville, PA 18452-2099. Sun Spots checked your order status online, and it indicates there is nothing on order from you at this time. Sun Spots would urge you to contact them to see what might have happened. You can also reach the toll-free customer service line at (800) 213-1220; please keep trying since Haband advises the number may be constantly busy due to a high number of calls.

Dear Sun Spots: About a year ago, I send an e-mail to a young lady, don’t remember her name, asking if there was some way I could find a fellow I knew as an announcer at WLAM AM/FM, Dick or Richard Edwards. (It was featured in the July 28, 2003, column).

Last I heard he was covered in a large spread in your paper, as he was head of the Elvis Fan Club in Maine, and a great Elvis fan he was. It was in the Aug. 16, 1997, Sun Journal front page. I was working in Boston then, and he sent me the paper.

Evidently my letter or request was put in your paper and I had several phone calls, one who said he was in California. No, not him. A young guy called me and he sounded as though he was the one who knew Richard or Dick Edwards, and his sister knew him and he did some work around radio stations.

At the end, when he was to give me the telephone number and his address, the message was cut off. I hope that maybe he can call again.

Dick’s wife was named Anne. I can be reached at: 52 Taft Ave., Portland, ME 04102, (207) 772-2872. – Harry Burnham, Portland.
