JAY/LIVERMORE FALLS – A parade supporting military troops and celebrating the country’s independence is scheduled to travel Main Street on Saturday.

The parade kicks off at 5 p.m. from the MEMCO building, formerly Ranor’s, and the high school in Jay and end in Livermore Falls.

Parade Chairman Earl Howard is expecting at least 40 floats to take part in the parade, which will be led by the 195th Army Marching Band.

The celebration also includes a chicken barbecue the VFW in Jay with orders for takeout to be picked up between 4 and 5 p.m..

A concert at the Livermore Falls gazebo is scheduled prior to dusk when the fireworks are scheduled to light up the sky over Spruce Mountain in Jay.
