FARMINGTON – As Farmington police continue to investigate complaints of spray-painted vehicles, businesses, dumpsters and signs, the cost of damage mounts as more complaints come in.
Graffiti complaints started coming in June 26 and continue to do so.
The damage is estimated at more than $2,000.
Police believe the criminal mischief occurred late last Friday, early last Saturday.
The vandals have written the name Sindicate Crew, Sindicate, SC on outside walls of buildings, including Cumberland Farms and Farmington Farmers Union. They’ve also struck MBNA, two vehicles parked at Verizon, the back of Sexual Assault Victims Emergency Services’ building, several street signs and business signs.
Two more complaints came in this week about spray paint on Depot Laundry on Front Street and a Dumpster between 113 Main and 117 Main St.
Police have no leads in the case and are asking community members for help. A similar incident last fall was solved, Farmington police officer Nate Reid said, when a community member gave police the tip they needed.
Anyone with information is asked to call Farmington Police Department at 778-6311.
