LEWISTON – Alcide Nadeau, 94, formerly of Bucksport, died Sunday, July 4, at d’Youville Pavilion.

He was born on April 9, 1910, in Fort Kent, a son of Joseph and Victoire Lamare Nadeau and educated there.

Mr. Nadeau worked at and helped build the St. Regis Paper Co. in Bucksport for 42 years, retiring in 1972. In retirement he did carpentry work for the Knights of Columbus, the Senior Citizens and the town’s people and even volunteered his skills and services to those in need.

He was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Bucksport where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Nadeau was a member of the Health and Fitness Center, which he enjoyed until the age of 80, as well as the Bucksport Senior Citizens Club and the Bucksport Golf Club. He loved to dance with his wife, Annie and enjoyed entertaining his family and friends with his good spirit and old stories.

Surviving are one son, Joseph Roland Nadeau of Auburn, Ind.; two daughters, Annette M. Nadeau-Boucher of Indianapolis, Ind., and Marie Nadeau of Auburn; two brothers, Alcier and his wife Brenda Nadeau, Philip and his wife Jean Nadeau both of Connecticut; three sisters, Leona Rossignol of Van Buren, Rita and her husband Raymond Noonan of Connecticut, Theresa Jalbert of Saco; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including one special niece, Barbara Laverriere of Biddeford.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret; his second wife, Annie Mae; and seven siblings.
