FARMINGTON – Lucile F. Cole, 96, of Farmington, formerly of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, died peacefully at 4:15 p.m., Friday afternoon, July 2, at the Pinewood Terrace.

She was born March 20, 1908, to Frank and Belle (Woolm) Ferguson on a farm near Washington, Iowa.

In 1933, she married, Norman R. Cole, Sr., a lawyer who predeceased her in 1998, in his 90th year. She loved classical music, reading and writing letters.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Matulaitis of Phillips; a son, Norman R. Cole Jr. of East Vassalboro; a grandson, Barry Matulaitis of Stratton; sisters-in-law, Edith Ferguson of Troy, Mich., and Doris (Cole) Girtanner of Brick, N.J.; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her nine brothers and sisters.
