SABATTUS – The town is looking into its budget to see if there are funds to make restorations to one of its nine cemeteries.

Thomas Stevens of New Castle, on his way to work on a Greene cemeteries, had noticed that Golder Cemetery on Wales Road needs maintenance. There are a few broken headstones, and others need straightening.

Stevens brought the situation to the town’s attention, and his $3,500 bid will be considered among others the town receives after it requests bids for the project.

Road Commissioner James Wood said the project would have to be contracted out.

In other business, a new town policy has been put into effect allowing town officials to monitor the Internet activity of town employees.

Frabrizio said this is to ensure that “the wrong sites are not being visited.” The town will have access to reports that will show the Internet sites visited by employees during work hours.

Selectman William Luce said he is in favor of the policy. “The computers are there to do town work,” Luce said. “Not to find out if you can sell stuff on eBay.”

In other news, Central Maine Power has confirmed with Town Administrator Tracy Frabizio that traffic lights will be built at the intersections of Main, Lisbon and Route 126; Route 132 and Route 126; and Pleasant Hill Road and Middle Street. Completions of these traffic light projects have not yet been determined.

Selectman Gino Camardese was appointed to the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments, replacing board Chair Rudy Gayton.

Thomas Verrill was re-appointed as sealer of weights and measures for three years.
