LIVERMORE FALLS – Uninsured or underinsured Maine women age 40 and older can take part in a breast and cervical cancer screening day from 8 a.m. to noon July 27 at Spruce Mountain Health Services. Every woman who attends this screening will receive a $25 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble.

Participating women who have no insurance or whose insurance doesn’t cover annual mammograms or Pap tests, or women who have a high deductible may qualify to receive free services at this screening through the Maine Breast and Cervical Health Program.

Participants will receive no-cost mammograms, Pap tests, clinical breast and pelvic exams, as well as information on nutrition and tobacco.

Clinical services will be provided by Sondra Perry of the Western Maine Family Health Center. The event is sponsored by the Healthy Community Coalition, the Breast and Cervical Health Program and the Avon Foundation Breast Care Fund. Space is limited.

The program is free to those who qualify.
