AUBURN – Ethel J. Dunbar, 92, formerly of Turner St. died Thursday, July 8, at Seville Place.

Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, a daughter of Albert and Agnes Campbell Culbert. She attended Canadian schools and graduated from Oxford High School in the Class of 1929 and Shaw’s Business School of Portland.

She was married to Thomas E. Dunbar Dec. 25, 1935. He died July 17, 1979. Mrs. Dunbar was a dental assistant for Dr. William Taylor in Mechanic Falls until 1939, and later became office manager at JC Penney for 15 years retiring in 1967.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed politics.

She is survived by a daughter, Sheila Christakis of North Yarmouth; a son, Roger E. Dunbar and his wife, Patricia of Auburn; her grandchildren and their spouses, Thomas R. and Lisa Dunbar, Melissa J. and Lawrence Rose, Pamela J. and Andrew Morgan and Janna L. and John Vacarello; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois McClain of Avon Park, Fla.
