LEWISTON – Corey Laurent Sturgis, 27, of 35 Jean Street Lewiston, died on Foss Road Wednesday July 7, as a result of a motorcycle accident.

He was born in Lewiston on April 11, 1977, proud son of Ann Marie (Brillant) and Jerry Perkins and big brother of Shaun and Amanda Sturgis whom they looked up to and admired. he also leaves behind a son, Benjamin M. Sturgis, who is 10 years old. Our precious son graduated from ELHS class of 1995. He was employed by Central Distributors located on Foss Road at the time of the accident. He also previously worked at Fordland, Cote Crane and Rigging, and Vincent Fruit. He was full of life and what made him the happiest was to ride his motorcycles. He said if he ever died on a motorcycle, he would die a happy man because he would die doing what he loves the most to do.

As a young boy, Corey was in the Cub Scouts for three years in Greene, and was well known to “hit a boomer!”. When it was his turn to bat the entire outfield and infield would back up as far as they could go knowing what a power hitter Corey was. He also was a paper boy in Auburn for two years. He enjoyed that and took pride in providing great customer service as he had a great amount of respect for his elders since he was tremendously close to his grandparents Cecile and Laurent Brillant. He enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, 4 wheeling, watching and going to bike and car races. He also enjoyed playing hockey, driving his truck and raiding Mom’s fridge. He was carefree, easy going and the life of the party. He was always fun to be around, always had interesting stories to tell and always made you laugh. He always spoke his mind so you never knew what he was going to say, but it would make you laugh. He was very honest, polite and respectful. He touched everyone who knew him in a way that you would always remember him. He was very tough on the outside yet very sensitive on the inside. He loved all get togethers especially family ones and we loved him there. There was a difference when he was there and when he was not it was boring until Corey arrived and then in his magical way we were laughing and having fun. He would do anything for anyone at anytime. He was always eager to lend a hand. When he was born, he was a pleasure and a blessing to us all. We were and are so happy he is part of our lives. He was truly a great and wonderful son, brother, relative and friend of which we are very proud of.

He leaves behind his parents, sister, and brother of Lewiston; his son; grandfather, Laurent R. Brillant of Auburn; Godmother-Aunt and Uncle, Michelle and Ray Doyon; nephew, Zachary Sturgis, 5; two cousins, Donnie and Craig Hamel and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his beloved grandmother and best friend, Cecile Pauline Brillant in 2002. Corey’s beautiful, smiling, glowing face and beautiful eyes will be missed forever.
