LEWISTON – F. Henry and Rita Sabourin of Lewiston celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 8 at a special gathering.

They were married at Saints Peter and Paul Church on May 8, 1954, where family and friends enjoyed a Marine Corps military wedding.

The immediate family enjoyed a family gathering at a local restaurant to share stories of the past 50 years and special times. An open house hosted by their children, Sheila Olson and Skip Sabourin was held later that evening at the home of the couple, where they spent time with close friends and other family members.

Mrs. Sabourin is retired, after many years of work with Mercy Hospital and local doctors.

Mr. Sabourin is a proud retired Marine Corps captain and assistant vice president with Fleet Bank. He is a life member of the Military Officers Association, Elks Lodge, Franco-American Veterans and the DAV. He has also done several years of community service with the City of Lewiston, serving on various boards.

Their future plans are to continue to live in the Maple Ridge community of Lewiston to enjoy their family and devotion to their grandchildren. Their winters will be spent vacationing and enjoying various parts of sunny Florida.
