AUBURN – H. E. Callahan Construction Co. announced its employees have worked more than 100,000 hours without a lost-time injury. This is the first time since 1999 that this company of 46 employees has reached this milestone.
“We are very pleased that the emphasis we have placed on workplace safety has led to such a satisfactory result,” said President Jeff Ohler. “We formally recognized that accident prevention is an operating responsibility, and we adopted the philosophy that accident prevention demands the same executive commitment, direction and control given to production.”
John Blanchard, vice president of operations, explained, “Our goal of zero accidents can only be reached by teamwork and the full cooperation of everyone putting safety first. No job is so important that safety should be jeopardized in order to accomplish it.”
H. E. Callahan Construction Co., headquartered in Auburn, is a full-service general construction contractor. It has been in business since 1948.
