LEWISTON – Gerard L. Dagneau, 83, died Sunday afternoon, July 11, at Montello Manor, with his family by his side, after a long illness.
Born in Lewiston, April 1, 1921, the son of Alfred and Exilia Dagneau, he had been a resident of this community all his life.
He was a member of Holy Family Church and worked for Callahan Oil for a good part of his life. He also worked for Lewiston Bottled Gas for many years. He also enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Leo Dagneau and his wife, Jeanne, and Paul Dagneau and his wife, Susan, all of Lewiston; two daughters, Rita Laliberty and her husband, Donald, of Sabattus and Jackie Lavertu and her husband, Glenn, of Lewiston; a brother, Roland Dagneau, of Connecticut; a sister, Irene Henson, of Auburn; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gertrude Dagneau on March 12; one daughter, Doris Dagneau on Feb. 22, 1955; and one brother, Robert Dagneau. He will be sadly missed by his family.
