Musical lampoon

HARRISON – Fred Garbo and the Incredible Inflatable Theatre will entertain with visual magic, deftly bouncing between grand silliness and living sculpture at 8 p.m. Friday, July 16, at the theatre on Deertrees Road. Admission is $16 and $8.

Variety show slated

OTISFIELD – The teens of the Spurr’s Corner Church have been working toward their upcoming trip to Phoenix, Ariz., to attend the Life Youth Conference held once every three years. The four-day event features nationally-known speakers and musicians with activities and seminars focused on spiritual development. The group has spent several months raising funds for the trip by holding bottle drives, suppers, doing yard work and selling calendars. The final event will be a variety show titled “Oh! Otisfield” at 8 p.m. Friday, July 16, at the church. Teens and friends will present music, comedy and skits in an intimate setting. Virginia Noble of Otisfield is the accompanist. Oxford County Democrats to meet

MEXICO – The Oxford County Democrats will meet on Thursday, July 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the Mexico Town Hall for their regular monthly meeting, preceded by a pot-luck supper at 5:30. Linda Petrie, candidate for the House of Representatives in District 93; Rep. John Patrick, House District 92; and Sen. Bruce Bryant, District 14, will welcome Democrats to the northern end of the county for the supper and meeting. The meeting is open to anyone interested in electing Democrats in 2004 and will consist of planning for late summer and fall activities. Christmas ornament announced

NORWAY – Norway Downtown Revitalization is pleased to announce that this year’s Norway Christmas ornament will feature L.F. Pike & Son also known as “The Blue Store.” The ornament was designed and manufactured by Frog’s Leap Designs and is made of native hardwoods. It can be purchased for $10 at the following locations: L.F. Pike & Son, Norway Memorial Library, Grassroots Graphics, and Cattails, and at the Norway Town Office, Danforth Street.
