FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Philips Federal Credit Union has awarded Kara Forgues of Auburn, Maine, the Charles M. Cook Scholarship.

Forgues attended Edward Little High School and was active in many areas, including varsity soccer, volleyball and track and field. Forgues attends Northeastern University, Boston, where she is studying to be a physical therapist. She is active in the Physical Therapy Club, rowing and intramurals. Forgues has been awarded numerous academic awards at the local, state and national level.

Cook Scholarships are awarded annually to five outstanding high school or undergraduate college students by Philips Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Fort Wayne.

The $1,000 scholarships are based on academic achievement, involvement, participation and financial considerations.
