LEWISTON – Bernard A. “Bud” Ridley, 73, a resident of Hallowell Road, Litchfield, died Wednesday, July 14, at St. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion following a long illness.

Born in Litchfield, May 10, 1931, the son of Albert and Helen (McGibbon) Ridley, “Bud” attended Litchfield schools.

On July 10, 1954, in Sabattus, he married Viola Bowen. He worked at Webster Rubber in Sabattus for 13 years and then went to work for the Maine Turnpike Authority for 25 years, retiring in 1993.

He was a member of the Litchfield Plains Baptist Church. He enjoyed cutting wood and farming on his land.

Survivors include his wife, Viola, of Litchfield; two daughters, Diane Maney, of Bath and Jean Higgins and her husband, Everett, of Litchfield; three sons, Glen Ridley, of Litchfield, Donald Ridley and his wife, Lisa, of Litchfield and James Ridley, of Litchfield; three brothers, Norman Ridley and his wife, Barbara, of Litchfield, Gordon Ridley, of Litchfield and Arnold Ridley and his wife, Nancy, of Sabattus; two sisters, Gladys Leet, of Litchfield and Bernice, of Auburn; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, George and Edward.
