PARIS – Camp Sunshine, a children’s cancer survivor camp program in Casco, will be a beneficiary of this year’s Pee Wee Open Championship golf tournament at the Paris Hill Country Club.

The 22nd annual tournament on Aug. 1 will allow up to 72 boys and girls, accompanied by an adult caddie, to play either nine or 18 holes, depending on age, for an entry fee of $10.

Country club marketing director Bernie Dunn said the tournament is popular with young golfers from all around the region, and helps raise money for different children’s charities.

“They get trophies, prizes, and a ditty bag of goodies,” he said. The sponsor of the tournament this year is Colortyme, a rental business in South Paris.

Players are allowed a free practice round to prepare for the tournament. Players age 12 or younger must have an adult with them when they practice.

There are four categories: age 10 and under, 11 years, 12 years, and 13 years old. The children must bring their own clubs.

Those wishing to register should send their name, age, address and telephone number, along with the entry fee, to Paris Hill Country Club, attn: Pee Wee Tournament, P.O. Box 68, Paris, ME 04271. Tee times will be published before the event.
