FARMINGTON – Richard H. Luce, 82, of Kidder Avenue, Dixfield, died Tuesday, July 13, at Franklin Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born on Oct. 6, 1921, in New Portland, a son of Charles H. and Nathalie Luce.

He was educated in New Portland and Dixfield schools and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater.

He was employed for 37 years at Oxford Paper Co. and was known by his co-workers as “Scoop.”

He was a member of King Hiram Lodge of Masons in Mexico.

He enjoyed watching sports and spending time at his camp in Weld.

He is survived by his wife, of 58 years, Jeanne Ames Luce, of Dixfield; a son, Franz H. Luce and wife, Pamela, of Dixfield; a daughter, Marianne L. Morton, of Aberdeen, N.C.; a sister, Virginia L. Owens, of Oakland, Calif.; three grandchildren, Richard K. Morton, Ryan K. Morton and Emily W. Luce.

He was predeceased by his mother and father.
