AUBURN – Madeline C. Whitman, of Auburn died peacefully Wednesday, July 14.

Born Nov. 21, 1909, in Durham, to Albert D. Crockett Sr. and Alice Parker Crockett, Ms. Whitman was graduated from Auburn’s Edward Little High School, Class of 1927, and from the Maine School of Commerce in 1928.

She worked for 36 years as a bookkeeper for R.I. Mitchell Co. and retired from Seltzer & Rydholm.

Survivors include nieces, Marilyn Crowley and her husband, William, of Greensburg, Pa., and Beverly Yentsch and her husband, Richard, of Addison, Texas; nephew, Donald Crockett, of Berkeley, Calif.; several cousins; and dear friends, Don and Jane McGlauflin, of Poland.

She was predeceased by her sister, Methyl Fuller; brother, Albert D. Crockett Jr.; niece, Barbara C. Peck; and dear friend, Owen Walker.
