JAY – Selectmen will hear from a resident tonight who wonders what the town has for options if someone proposed to set up an adult bookstore.

Neighboring Livermore Falls is dealing with that situation now.

Deputy Town Clerk Jill Gingras said resident Al Landry has requested the agenda item.

The board’s meeting will start at 6 p.m. with a session with the Jay Development Corp. Board of Directors, an economic-development entity, to consider revision of its bylaws.

After that, selectmen plan to discuss a proposal for a wellness program for those served by the town’s health insurance. It’s an incentive program for employees and families to keep well, Gingras said.

The town’s insurance company has given the town $600 for the program, and Town Manager Ruth Marden is going to ask selectmen to match it, Gingras said.

Selectmen are expected to consider solid waste contracts, the reappointment of Dennis Couture to the Spruce Mountain Board of Directors, and other matters.

An executive session on pending legal matters is also scheduled.
