NATICK, Mass. – In response to the increasing demand for settling disputes between businesses and consumers, the Better Business Bureau Inc. Boston chapter, which serves Maine, is looking for volunteer arbitrators.

“By being an arbitrator (judge for the day), individuals are able to give back to the community and assist consumers and business in this quick free process. Our volunteer arbitrators hear and decide on cases ranging from automobiles to swimming pools and everything in between,” said Robert H. Williams, president and CEO of the BBB serving eastern Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont.

People interested in serving the community through the BBB as a volunteer arbitrator must complete a two-day training program in Natick, Mass., on Oct. 2-5. Individuals who are attorneys or have prior arbitration experience in another forum can apply.

Applications can be completed online at www.dr.bbb.org/autoline/arbitrators.asp.
