WALES – Vacation Bible School at the Wales Presbyterian Church will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, July 25 to 29, at the church on Route 132. The closing program will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 30, at the church.

The theme of the program is “Son Games: God’s Love in Action.” All children ages nursery school through eighth grade are welcome. The program will include Bible stories, games, crafts, music and snacks. Those wishing more information should call Bethany Siderio at 375-4304.

Youth on mission

WINDHAM – Becky Hughes, daughter of Thomas and Mary Hughes of Auburn, recently returned from a mission to Bolivia. Hughes, who traveled with 30 other teenagers from the United States and Canada, were part of a Youth on Missions tour.

Support speakers

LEWISTON – Central Maine Medical Center personal health counselors Rod Charest and Marcy Covey will be the featured speakers at the Tuesday, July 27, meeting of the CMMC Cancer Wellness and Support Group.

Charest will talk about the role of exercise in reducing fatigue and discomfort and promoting conditioning and well-being during and after cancer treatment. Covey will lead participants through gentle stretching and exercise movements.

The group is open to people living with cancer, as well as their spouses/partners, family members and caregivers.

The group meets from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the Isaacson Rooms (conference rooms F and G) in the 12 High Street Medical Office Building. For more information, call oncology social worker Kerry Irish at 795-7118.

Self-defense

DURHAM – Northern Chi Martial Arts Center will hold a women’s self-defense seminar from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 31. The three-and-a-half-hour seminar with Doug Young will emphasize using intuition and awareness to recognize and avoid danger. For more information, call the center at 353-6135.
