Contrary to the expectations of many of the drivers on the Rural Free Delivery Routes, all are not enjoying the increase in salaries to $720 as had been anticipated. The new salary schedule has been completed. Congress having raised the maximum salary from $600 to $720 a year, this having gone into effect the first of July. The pay of the driver is not large at the most for they must be out in all kinds of weather and furnish their own horse and wagon.
