RUMFORD – Rumford Rotary sponsored the eighth annual Rotary Moontide Water Festival Road Races on July 3 at Hosmer Field. An added feature this year was the massage tent set up by the Moontide Water Festival Committee and Robert’s Chiropractic Services.
Runner participation increased again this year in the Fun Run and the River Valley 5- and 10-km races.
During the two races, Justin Easter competed in both and set new overall records in each. For his outstanding performance he will receive a special plaque and $25 gift certificates for each record.
One-Mile Fun Run: first, Conner Blais, 7:29.3; second, Cam Welch, 8:22.5; third, Brook Dolloff, 9:53.9.
River Valley 5-km Women: first, Annie Howley, 20:36; second, Christine Mathieu, 23:47; third, Laura Bolstridge, 24:40.
River Valley 5-km Men: first, Justin Easter, 16:26; second, Randy Easter, 19:34; third, Jeff Arsenault, 20:01.
River Valley 10-km Men: first, Justin Easter, 32:53; second, Trevor Parent, 43:22; third, Dave Young, 43:55.
