PORTLAND, Maine – Michael Cervanek drilled a two-run double while Julian Benavidez, Derin McMains and Doug Clark also doubled to give the Norwich Navigators a 7-3 win over the Portland Sea Dogs on Saturday.

Portland (47-53) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on two singles and a sacrifice fly.

Benavidez’s RBI double was the key hit as the Navigators (53-45) rallied for two runs in the second.

An error allowed one Norwich run in the third inning with back-to-back doubles by McMains and Clark making it 4-1 in the fifth.

Brett Roneberg’s RBI double narrowed Portland’s deficit by one in the bottom the fifth, but the Navigators replied with one in the sixth and Cervanek’s two-run drive off the left-field wall made it 7-2 in the top of the ninth. Sheldon Fulse doubled and scored the final run of the game. Chris Begg earned the win. Kason Gabbard took the loss.
