LEWISTON – St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center was named a Professional Research Consultants 5-Star Customer Service Hospital in nursing care for medical staff satisfaction.

The honor was bestowed at a ceremony June 7 at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort in Orlando, Fla.

PRC conducts medical staff satisfaction research for health systems in the nation. Research is conducted annually to obtain the opinions of the physicians who practice at St. Mary’s.

“St. Mary’s is among a very elite group of hospitals and healthcare providers nationwide who put customer service first,” said President Joe M. Inguanzo of PRC. 5-Star awards were presented to those hospitals scoring above the 90th percentile in medical staff satisfaction.

Mary-Anne Ponti, vice president of nursing, was present in Orlando, Fla. on June 7 to accept the award on behalf of the nursing staff at St. Mary’s.
