RUMFORD – The first Family Day/Mud Run hosted by the River Valley Riders ATV Club was a huge success. The mud run, ATV pulls and children’s games were well received.
Sunday’s Poker Run saw 36x ATVs start at Mountain View Campground, ride the trails to Winter Hill and on to Colonel Holman Mountain. There were rest/social breaks at the Big Pine, Poodunck Pond, Morrison Hill and the top of the mountain. The ride ended back at the campground where refreshments were available.
ATV pull winners were: 300cc, Cecile Holbrook, Debbie Fletcher and Justin Holbrook; 400cc, Cecil Holbrook, Justin Holbrook and Paul Gravel; 500cc, Mike Haines, Leon Richard and Don Pease; 600cc, David Robbins, Elden Yates and Timmy Ross; 700cc, David Robbins, Elden Yates and Denny Bradley.
Morning mud run winners: 300cc, Debbie Fletcher and Ken Arsenault; 400cc, Echoo Corliss, Joe Arsenault and Ray Libby; 500cc, Aaron Child and Ethan Child; 600cc, Andy Dupuis, Mark James and Jim Windover; 700cc, Lance White and Susan Knowles.
Afternoon mud run winners: 400cc, Echoo Corliss, Joe Arsenault and Ray Libby; 600cc, James Windover, Nate Marston and Art Bousquet; 700cc, Josh Galloway. Galloway was the overall winner.
Poker run winners on Sunday were: first, Elizabeth Waite; second, Donald F. Pease; and third, Bill Morse. The 50/50 winner was Harry Carver.
The Maine Conservation School will be awarded a $500 donation.
The club will plan another event for next year.
