PARIS – The Paris Public Library’s annual book sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at the old Paris Fire Station, Pine Street, South Paris.
The new location will permit the sale to be held rain or shine, provide more space for both books and buyers and allow the sale to be set up the preceding week. While the library’s trustees and staff are worried about losing drive-by buyers, signs in Market Square will direct traffic toward the sale.
The library collects donations of books throughout the year for the annual sale, and few library discards are included in the sale. Each year’s sale is different, according to what was contributed during the year. The library’s staff does sort through the items to save some books for the library’s collection.
Proceeds from this year’s sale will be used to purchase audiobooks for the library’s children’s collection, an area of the collection seeing increasing demand.
Donations are always welcome. For more information, people can call the Paris Public Library at 743-6994 or e-mail [email protected].
