LEWISTON – Rita E. Lagueux, 79, of 280 Scribner Blvd., died Saturday, July 24, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion.

Born Dec. 17, 1924, in Lewiston, she was a daughter of Valere and Yvonne Gilbert Gagne. She attended Lewiston schools and graduated from Lewiston High School. She married Guy J.P. Lagueux on Oct. 27, 1945. He died Oct. 6, 1995.

Mrs. Lagueux was a member of Holy Cross Parish and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council 106, Lewiston.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Lorraine) Mercier of Grand Blanc, Mich.; one son, Daniel Lagueux and his wife, Linda, of Lewiston; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Therese Paradis and her husband, Wilfred, of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by one son, Richard Lagueux, in October of 1992.
