BUCKFIELD – Justin Hendricks, son of Lanny and Marie Hendricks of Buckfield, has been nominated as a delegate to represent Maine at the National Youth Leadership Forum of Technology from July 26 to Aug. 4 in Silicon Valley, Calif.

His teachers and guidance counselor Gary Upham at Buckfield Junior/Senior High School nominated Hendricks due to his academic record, leadership potential and interest in the computer and technology field.

Hendricks enrolled in such extracurricular classes as advance computer programming, digital, audio design and computer applications. He is involved in the school Music Department and provides sound engineering during musical performances.

Hendricks received an award for excellence in U.S. history. He enjoys playing guitar, skateboarding, music, computers, four-wheeling and snowboarding. His passion is technology.

“Technology can never be finished, it will never stop expanding, technology won’t get old and most of all, I can never be finished. There will always be something more to come, another problem, another solution, or an easier way of solving the last,” Hendricks said.

The forum is an opportunity to explore technology in detail. It is an educational adventure in which Hendricks will acquire practical hands-on experience, be involved in content rich labs and workshops and meet others who share determination and dreams in the filed of computers.
