FARMINGTON – Moonlight Madness is scheduled to once again strike downtown Farmington Friday.

Farmington Downtown Business and Professional Association sponsors the event, which includes music, street dancing and a fashion show.

All of Broadway will be closed to foot traffic for the day.

Scheduled events are:

11 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Art in the Park.

11 a.m. – Lobster rolls in the park, sponsored by St. Luke’s Church

3 p.m. – Veggie Madness. Restaurant representatives submit their favorite healthy dish for judging and sampling by the public.

The event is sponsored by the Healthy Community Coalition, and its mobile health unit will be present.

4 p.m. – Chicken barbecue by Farmington Fire Rescue in front of courthouse.

4 p.m. – Eco Health, Brazilian jiu jitsu.

4:30 p.m. – Epic Fantasy trivia contest, Devaney Doak & Garrett Booksellers.

5:30 p.m. – Fashion show on stage.

6:30 p.m. – Kids’ 1-mile road race.

7 p.m. – 24th annual Moonlight Madness Road Race, 3 miles.

8 p.m. – Street dance with Tom Ball Band.

Midnight – Movie at Narrow Gauge Cinemas, breakfast at Cherries Cafe.

Other events include a clothing giveaway, hands-on activities for kids, food, hosted by the Franklin County Children’s Task Force from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Many businesses plan to hold sidewalk sales, and there is a coloring contest with judging and prizes at the Thrift Store.
