TURNER – “The Many Faces of Graduates” was the theme for the SAD 52 Adult Education and River Valley School graduation held June 11 at Leavitt Area High School. Forty students graduated from the school’s divisions: River Valley School and Adult Education.
The first part of the evening, hosted by Director Bette Swett-Thibeault, was a short presentation by John Jenkins, former Lewiston mayor and martial arts champion. He spoke about the difference between “knowing a lot of stuff” and true wisdom.
Jenkins advised the audience to use their “time, talents and treasure” with faith, anticipation, compassion and enthusiasm: FACE.
Dinner was served then River Valley School graduates were presented gag gifts from teachers and advisers. Family and friends adjourned to the auditorium for the ceremonies, including a guest speaker, student and faculty awards and presentation of diplomas.
