LONDON – Marion Jones has withdrawn from a pre-Olympic meet this week in London, where she had been scheduled to compete in the 100 meters and the long jump.

Jon Ridgeon, a spokesman for the grand prix meet Friday at the Crystal Palace track, said organizers were informed Tuesday that Jones would not be competing.

Jones, a three-time champion at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, has qualified for the long jump at the Athens Games but also hopes to run on at least one U.S. relay team.

She now plans to run the 100 at a grand prix meet in Zurich, Switzerland, on Aug. 6. She also is set to run in a relay in Munich, Germany, on Aug. 8.

Jones is under investigation by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, though she has not been charged with drug use. She repeatedly has denied using performance-enhancing substances.

A report in the San Francisco Chronicle last week said her ex-husband, C.J. Hunter, has told federal agents that Jones was using banned drugs before, during and after the 2000 Olympics.
