FARMINGTON – The next meeting of the Franklin Memorial Hospital breast cancer support group will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Aug. 3, in the Allen Room at the hospital. The support group is for women who have or have had breast cancer.

The support group, offered in collaboration with the American Cancer Society and the Healthy Community Coalition, had its first meeting in June and is a free service of the hospital’s Martha B. Weber Breast Care Center. Each meeting features presentations of special interest, as well as a time of sharing personal experiences and concerns.

The support group meets the first Tuesday of each month and is facilitated by registered nurse Rita Porter and physical therapy aide Audrey Brown. Light refreshments are served.

The August discussion, titled “Eating For Your Well Being,” will be led by Marge Blonder, a nutritionist who chairs the Healthy Community Coalition’s Nutrition Task Force.

No appointment or registration is required. More information may be obtained by calling Porter at 779-2430 from the Farmington area or 1-800-398-6031 from all other areas.
