HARTFORD – The Planning Board reviewed meeting minutes Wednesday to help Pine Shores Homeowners Association complete its application and ultimately have the town handle its trash.
The association wants to amend its 1990 Planning Board permit that approved the 50-plus-lot subdivision on Canton Lake created by Patten Corp. The permit stipulated the association must take care of its solid waste.
Earlier this year, the association asked the town to handle it, saying it is the only subdivision in Hartford that does not have town trash removal, and homeowners collectively pay $50,000 in taxes and have only one child who attends school.
Association member David Bowen requested the Planning Board put its 19 requirements in writing so the association can complete its application for an amended subdivision permit. He said he contacted the state Department of Environmental Protection and was sent an application to modify the project.
A year’s worth of minutes was looked at Wednesday. The May 24 minutes listed some requests made of Pine Shores, but the list is not complete because e-mails between Planning Board Chairman Dan Maddox and the association about requirements were not available.
Maddox did not attend the meeting.
The board had requested a list of the DEP conditions, a map of all wells and leach fields in the subdivision and a letter to the DEP from Patten Corp. addressing solid waste.
No board minutes had been approved since April 13 and because Wednesday was a workshop meeting the board could not legally approve them.
