PARKMAN (AP) – Maine State Police have classified the death of an elderly man as suspicious after meeting with the attorney general’s and state medical examiner’s offices, officials said Thursday.

Arthur Bailey, 74, was found in his driveway by a newspaper carrier last March.

The state medical examiner found that Bailey died from “blunt trauma to the head,” and detectives said some items were missing from his home.

Bailey died at the hospital three days after he was found lying in his driveway. He was last seen on the night of March 7 buying a takeout meal; the food was uneaten when he was found on March 8.

Detectives asked anyone who may have information to call state police in Orono at (800) 432-7381.
