STARKS – The annual Vacation Bible School at Camp at the Eastward on the West Mills Road will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, Aug. 2-6. The theme this year is “Son Games” and it is held for ages 5 to 12.

Transportation is available locally. Children and families are also welcome for lunch. The week is sponsored by the Starks and West Mills Community Churches, along with Clinton Presbyterian Church and Camp at the Eastward.

Free college workshop

WILTON – A free workshop for adults considering college, the Essentials of College Planning, will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 5 at the East Wilton CareerCenter at 865 Route 2E.

This workshop is sponsored by the Maine Educational Opportunity Center, which has helped thousands of adults who have college potential but lack the wherewithal to do it alone.

MEOC helps adult students to overcome class, social, academic and cultural barriers to higher education. All MEOC services are free. People may register by calling 1-800-281-3703.

Alumni meeting of Dead River area

EUSTIS – The Alumni Association of the Dead River area will hold its 24th annual meeting on Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Cathedral Pines Campground public picnic area.

In case of rain the meeting will convene at the Stratton/Eustis Community Building on Main Street in Stratton.

Graduates of Stratton High School, Flagstaff High School and Mount Abram Regional High School are welcome to attend.

Registration will begin at 10 a.m.

The business meeting will start at 11 a.m. and will be followed by the awards for graduate anniversaries and teachers.

Proceeds from this table go to the scholarship fund.
