PARIS – Karen Hurll Montanaro will perform her one-woman show “Tanzspiel” at Celebration Barn Saturday, July 31. She will be joined by the popular duo Reifer and Saccone. The performance begins at 8 p.m.

In “Tanzspiel,” German for “dance play,” Montanaro blends mime and dance. The performance includes classical ballet variations and original choreography by mime master Tony Montanaro, renowned dancer and choreographer Clay Taliaferro and Carol Warner, as well as Ms. Montanaro’s own works.

Jackie Reifer and John Saccone create a fusion of mime, dance, juggling and physical storytelling. The performance is appropriate for all ages.

Montanaro is a principal dancer with the Portland Ballet Company in Portland; she teaches at the company’s school, The Portland School of Ballet. She also teaches ballet, movement and mime throughout New England and Europe.

Reifer and Saccone are resident guest artists with the Portland Ballet Company and have appeared in many of the ballet’s productions. Reifer is a character actress, mime and speech and language pathologist. Saccone is a mime-actor and movement education teacher at Merriconeag Waldorf School. They live in Pownal with their daughter, Kate.
