BREWER – Zillah E. Witman, 88, of 951 Minot Ave., Auburn, died Wednesday, July 28, at the Brewer Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Putnam, Conn., March 23, 1916, a daughter of Frank L. and Margaret Bone Evans. She graduated from Putnam High School and worked as a program director in harness racing.

Mrs. Witman was married to George F. Witman. He died April 4, 2000. She was a member of the High Street Congregational Church and enjoyed knitting and sewing.

She is survived by the family of Bill and Mary Ellen Therriault and their two sons, Tyler and Colby, of Holden; her sister, Margaret and husband, Ronnie Brodeur, of Woodstock, Conn.; and her special friend, Barbara Swett, of Hampden.
